WATCHING THE WELL-WORN WEAPONS OF THE RIGHT being grappled and thrown and dropped and whipped about in frenzy; watching the GOP throw McCarthyism, Racism, Terrorism, Greedism and everything else at both Barack Obama and the American populace reminds me of the final writhings and wailings of the Boss Monster before you take its life.
GLARINGLY ABSENT NOW are discussions of a cult, of cultishness, of a hypnotized and dangerous mob. Now, when John McCain and Sarah Palin are whipping their followers into a sick, bubbling, dangerous tangle of elbows and fear and bubbling vitriol. Where is the talk of scary mobs? So often we mention Change. Let us not forget that with real change always comes resistance and pain.
