THE MARCH AND RALLY on January 16, 2010 in Maricopa County, Arizona to protest the criminal Sheriff Joe Arpaio, reviled for his racial profiling tactics, his gratuitously cruel and humiliating conditions for detention, and his embarrassing anachronistic and race-based antagonism against entire communities.
SOONER OR LATER there will be a hard choice in how much compromise to make in the path of helping your own people. This is a windswept path, and one you must travel alone. Walk it carefully and choose thoughtfully.
A HATE CRIME is made possible by many actors, not just one ugly mind and hand. You have the actual perpetrator of the act, the immediate culture that encourages and approves of this behavior, the legislation that provides a moral/legal underpinning for certain views, and those who craft the legislation. All will soon be held accountable.
