News With Nezua | Whoa, Canada!
WHY DO REPUBLICANS SUPPORT WHITE-WING TERRORISM? How is Arizona giving police more power to apprehend Latinos than exists anywhere else in the nation right now? And how did your trip to Vancouver go, Nezua?
News With Nezua vids first appear Monday mornings at La Frontera Times. Wednesdays they show up at UMX, as well as in a dim setting at The XOLAGRAFIK Theater. This video is broken into segments on YouTube: The Canada Trip segment; the Joe Stack Segment, and the SB 1070 Segment.

Daamn, sucks that you couldn’t visit a friend and enjoy the Olympics. And what’s happening in Arizona… shit is ILLEGAL! And that definition of terrorism would make the U.S. a terrorist nation, right? or close to it. Another great/funny post. Every time I read/watch something here, it makes we want to do something about things, but like you said, I only “impotently howl” ha ha. Where are you, Villa? Jk. I don’t tweet, but I’ll post this on the space.
maybe one day that howl will turn into a hawk. or a handful of neon chalk. mark up the city, turn greasestains into glow worms.
either way, you’re always welcome to drop by and howl away.
lo siento!!!! I am sorry you didn’t get to go to Canadia-land and had to go through that s***
I haven’t been to Vancouver, all though from everything I’ve seen it is awesome and beautiful out there on the west coast. I have has the luck to go to Montreal twice and I am absolutely in love with that city. They did ask an awful lot of questions at customs, they asked me what I would be doing going there, why I was going, where I would be staying, and they asked them like…3 different ways!
Next time I’ll be prepared to be grilled. I think my reaction time actually made it look like I had to think up stories. But me and my friend usually leave a lot of flex in our schedule. We don’t get crampy. So I didn’t have hard answers to some questions like “What do you plan to do?” I was like “Eat. Drink. Watch some movies. Walk around.” It hadn’t occurred to me that this might come across as “not having a story” or suspicious or something.
A couple of thoughts on Joseph Stack and Terrorism:
I agree with you; Stack is a terrorist whichever way you want to cut it.
Since when was it acceptable to minimize the severity of terrorism on account of what the “motive” is? Always, but the recent(within the last 10 years) uptick of Terrorism motivated by Islam against the U.S. and Europe, many of us have lost some perspective. I guess that Americans come down on Islamic-based terrorism because they cannot, for the most part, understand where the motive is coming from. Therefore, the unfathonable horror is addressed with the utmost condemnation.
Stack’s motive(what it appears to be, at least), on the other hand, is something that Americans are quite familiar with–government’s heavy taxing and the subsequent waste and corruption of that taxed money. Especially in these days, with the instant availability of date.
Yet, the underlying danger of terrorism is not what it is motivated by–it is the process of using violence against civilians to obtain a goal. Stack may have been a delusional crazy man, yet he had the motivation–fed up with taxes–and sent a message–violence at civilians. Condemnable.
Since when is it acceptable? Yeah…I know. That’s why I loved that juxtaposition of black smoke with the senator’s empathetic musings, which would get a Democrat strung up by the GOP. “Seeking therapy for terrorists” they would have called it. Whatever. It’s a game they play. There’s not truth in there.
