what makes this a little more scary is an article that came out about a year ago that talked about which groups of people would be priority in case of an epidemic or other catastrophic event. the article just quoted health officials and didn't state what context they were releasing that information in. there was nothing in the article saying what provoked the health officials to create those categories of people who would be vaccinated/treated first.

yeah. those have been my instincts too, from the start. i'm doing my best to stay level, but regardless of how it came about, aint it neat how now the conversation about immigration, just when we were reaching critical mass, has been subsumed in a "mexican disease" conversation.

ah- trust those instincts, Nez. All my hairs stood up IMMEDIATELY on first hearing of this. I read that this flu had elements of swine, avian, and human, and I thought: "let's add: SOMETHING FISHY."

my ears perk up with the comment by the doctor saying first our hearts go out to... i concur with your uneasy. talking about; looking for more disease we'll be finding more... (and nothing like a) marathon. words like "ramp-up" (wtf is that) surveillance, investigation, number of things going on, standing operating procedure, strategic national stockpile, department of defense, free up for testing and diagnostic not otherwise available, personal protective equipment, deploy additional personnel to the borders, implementing anything,...these web sites to keep us posted daily...anticipate a follow up outbreak... i know i am taking these comments out of context but, i don't know... kind of creepy for sure and - i do have to say - i don't do gov vaccines period.
P.S. - Sorry, forgot to tell you great post!
