i am going to have to agree with nezua “that’s a huge question, friend. there are many contradictions, gaps, and injustices in more than one law,” ther are more holes in every law and things need to be checked and rechecked. which unfortunatl is unfair to alot of different people

that’s a huge question, friend. there are many contradictions, gaps, and injustices in more than one law, and part of the problem is the patchwork quality of them. its not an easy answer. and i’m involved with a couple grassroots groups right now and that is the specific question we are all cookin on. these groups felt much less consequential early last year, for example, tho of course we poured all our hearts into what we worked on anyway. (and with results. not only did obamam answer us and provide questions to our survey (search this site for “sanctuary” and “immigration survey” and “obama” or “mccain”). pero por ejemplo, still find it hard to believe that cecilia munoz, someone i know and have been on lists and spoken to is now going to be working in the white house! so much going on.and a ton of people gathering to fight for these thigns. more and more every day. its very inspiring. and it has to be. because the tragedies are still stacking up.

I’ve always thought it was bullshit that civil cases are exempt from the right to counsel anyway. If governments had to take real responsibility for the effects of the laws they pass, I don’t think there would be so much absurd and unnecessary legislation. Also, it would make shenanigans like this much harder to pull off.

Out of curiosity, what would you like to see happen in terms of immigration/border control reform? What’s your preferred outcome?
