Just take a look at the Mexican news and you will find the exact same thing. Mexican government corruption from the top all the way down. I am not referring to the news stories in English that are published in USA or UK but those in Spanish that appear in periodicals like La Jornada, OEM, Reforma, etc. So don’t think the US has the exclusive monopoly on corruption and hypocracy, for it is a human trait for which I apologize but cannot help.

Unjust laws were meant to be challenged. Once the law was slavery. Once the law was marriage as property. Once the law was women couldn’t vote. Saying ITS THE LAAAAWWWW does not somehow conjure an irrefutable voice of Truth to your cause! And crossing the border isn’t even a misdemeanor. As far as taxes, you are wrong. Many taxes go into US coffers that the undocumented cannot claim come tax refund time. So it’s actually the other way around. And if the US wasn’t so busy pumping money into the prison-for-profit system, we’d all have more money floating around.

Are you sure you’re not a man? Sometimes opposition shows up here and thinks that if they claim to be a woman, their rudeness or false comments won’t be confronted. And you sound terribly arrogant for a woman. Most women don’t show up first time sounding so pompous. Anyway, I’ve been writing out here on this for years. And if you really think that with your grand entrance a time of woe-filled challenge to UMX will be ushered in, you are delusional. Mexico is literally falling apart at the seams but I am raising my Mexican children to STAY HERE and fight for their rights and to make this country great again. Their Mexican father is in agreement however he cannot communitcate like I can.

How are you teaching them to fight for their rights? What rights? Please, tell us so others can follow your path. Because it sounds good to me! Everyone should be taught as much.

And I’m glad you are so comfortable speaking for your husband, but why can’t he “communitcate” like you? Do you mean he can’t show up on English language blogs and post comments? DO NOT buy into the encouragement to leave this beautiful country to make money under the table and illegally to send back so as the alleviate the responsablity your government has for its people. So your command seems an odd one, since you already wrote that you apologize for they hypocrisy and corruption in humans, but “it cannot be changed”! Ay, reporters in Mexico are getting killed left and right just for writing about the truth, let alone confronting anyone with it. And as anyone with actual knowledge of the entire relationship and history between the US and MX knows, much of México’s downturns are connected to the US’s policies. You can’t wall off cause and effect with a fence.

It is ironic that I an American find myself in Mexico living up to the responsibility that people like yourself are not. In my opinion (and you’re not going to like this) those who leave Mexico for dinero are cowards for not insisting that this country becomes the awesome place it should be, a country whose resources, richness and people are the envy of the planet.

Oh, your words don’t really bother me. Sorry to disappoint. But you’d be surprised at how many tactics I’ve had thrown at me in the course of my work. And an impersonator’s comment rife with falsehood, contradiction, insult, and faux compliments is actually a very tired format.

I am a new reader to your site and enjoy a good debate. I live in Mexico and have for ten + years. Yes you are correct on two points here: it is usually the woman who receives the most harsh punishments but this is the case in most countries and cultures including MEXICO. I am not proud or pleased with this fact but I do speak from experience. The other point you make about hypocritical government US officials breaking the law and being corrupt is also true. Its more true now than ever before but perhaps we see it this way because technology has enabled us to communicate these things more easily. I certainly believe that human dignity must dictate compassionate treatment of migrants in the USA. Now what happens to illegal migrants that are caught by immigration in MEXICO?
