With My Own Two Hands

A LINE OF THOUGHT going around today is the idea that while we all want change badly and see this election as heralding or potentiating important change, we are the ones who have to bring this about. And not just by participating in politics, but every day, in many ways.

A LINE OF THOUGHT going around in the blogospheres and also in Twitterania today (and I also wrote on the idea the day after Super Tuesday, which feels like it was about ten years ago) is the idea that while we all want change badly and see this election as heralding and potentiating important change, we are the ones who have to bring this about. And not just by participating in politics in whichever way our abilities/talents and personal makeup lend themselves, but every day, in many ways. (Tho let me say that on the national scene, I have to echo blogmigo Kevin who wrote today about those who have the commitment and fortitude to stand in line for many hours. I am lucky in that in this, I have it easy. So propz to Ud.!)

Change is not all about politics on the national level, it’s not all about Barack Obama. It’s about how we see things and act on them, and what we be in this here world. Moment by moment. One by one, we combine to make a changing moment and world.

Good thoughts, that’s all I’m saying. Just feeding that fire.
