‘Immigrant Nation’ Film Fundraiser
Immigrant Nation! is the story of the modern immigrant rights movement and the struggle of single mother Elvira Arellano who is struggling against her deportation. It tells how organizations, activists, community leaders and individuals as a whole came together to oppose bill HR4437 and a comprehensive immigration reform for all.
I RECEIVED AN EMAIL requesting help spreading the word about a new indie documentary from a Chicago filmmaking vato named Esau Melendez. Here’s the scoop:
I’m about to finish my documentary “Immigrant Nation!” It’s based on the current immigration movement that started in chicago and the story of Elvira Arellano who is fighting for her deportation. We are building an audience and raising funs to cover the cost of post-production.
Here’s the synopsis:

Here’s the page where you can donate toward the costs of production and distribution and so on.
Esau also writes that he’s soon to put a trailer online “for people to review so they can see the potential of this film.” If you get that going on, Esau, get in touch. Being a filmmaker myself who is 100% behind your project, tu sabes I am happy to support you in this effort. Being a broke mofo right now, I’ll do that by spreading the word. I do hope your project makes it out there. These are stories the country needs to hear.
