Is it FAIR to hate?

JUST LIKE THE SINGER AT THE ST. PAUL ANTI-WAR RALLY said of his band’s song Rock the Empire, this is a “call and response” post. ‘I shout out one thing, and you answer!’ he said…as I kept an eye on the police in riot gear, already gathering like storm clouds and in apparently no mood to rock much except the long batons in their hands.

JUST LIKE THE SINGER AT THE ST. PAUL ANTI-WAR RALLY said of his band’s song Rock the Empire, this is a “call and response” post. I shout out one thing, and you answer! he said…as I kept an eye on the police in riot gear, already gathering like storm clouds and in apparently no mood to rock much except the long batons in their hands.

And today’s topic? FAIR.

Have you heard of FAIR?
Crowd: [mixed response]

Firstly, FAIR is named in the Bushrovian Perversity Model of Shame and Self-Denial. That is, the model of giving a thing a name that portends the opposite of its essence. (See “P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act,” “Clean Air Act”, Camp Liberty, Freedom on the March, etc). FAIR is not fair.

Is “FAIR” a fair name for a well-established “extremist group”?
Crowd: NO!

I suggest, then, to save your mind from the madness that infects all who invent Bushrovian titling, think “FEER” or “Fear” when you read the acronym “FAIR.” Maybe think “FreezingAIR” as in cold, as in fearful. This brings the name back to what a name should do: communicate the truth of a thing.

The truth is, despite their uncontested status as an extremist group, FAIR remains a powerful lobbying group as well.

In addition, FAIR is considered an extremist group and even a “hate group” by the Southern Poverty Law Center. FAIR shares this distinction with groups like the Ku Klux Klan, the American Nazi Party, and the Aryan Nations organization.

Do we want groups like the KKK and the American Nazi Party influencing our government?
Crowd: NO!

If a Hate Group thinks we should have tighter borders and harsher workplace security, what does that say about the anti-migrant sentiment in general?
Crowd: [mulls it over]

Time sensitive info blast:

FAIR is holding an extensive Capital Hill lobbying campaign this week in which participants will visit their legislators and urge them to oppose “Illegal Alien Amnesty” and support even more intense border and workforce crackdown.

My goal in this post is simply to educate or inform any who were not aware of these facts. If being more informed on it interests you, here is a site with more information.

Finally, a short and well-done video introducing FAIR:

    That is one tight video.
    The quotes are chilling.
The pain we can do with words always cuts me deep.

The healing we can do with them helps to balance things out.
Luckily there are places like here that work well on that end of things.

I hadn’t heard of FAIR before here. There is so much that happens in the US that I know nothing about.

What scares me is that last week Stephen Harper, our (Canadian) Conservative Prime Minister, asked Michaelle Jean, our governor general, to dissolve parliament and called for an election on Oct. 14th. The reason being that he presently leads a minority government and would like to have a majority government.

It scares me because Mr. Harper’s Conservative party is much more swayed by the US goings-ons than the others and we have little time to ensure that he does not get his majority in parliament.

Re: “chase the baldheads out of the town” is exactly what I was thinking about when I commented on the Friday post. If you haven’t seen it yet, take a look at “Obama Waffles.”

Dr. Dobson’s wife will be so proud of him that he was able to snatch up a box for their mantel in their mansion. A mansion bought by tax free dollars heaped upon them by his “value” flock whose only goal in life is awaiting the “Rapture.”

    Obama comes to Aztlán Monday!

  5. sweetleaf says:

speaking of the rapture, i start this morning with rage against the machine, and at this moment, “killing in the name”…a nice feel for a sunday start, almost warm and fuzzy…i’ll check out the obama waffles, thanx.

  6. sweetleaf says:

wow, the waffle thing leaves me typeless…the only thing that comes to my mind is pure unadulterated ignorance of the truly ignorant. wow.
