And now, no news.

THERE IS STILL A LOT GOING ON in the world, and every day, and many thoughts in my mind, and much moving through my heart. But I seem to have pulled back a bit, once again, from the flow of news and commentary. I’m sure it’s like a circuit breaker to keep me sane.

THERE IS STILL A LOT GOING ON in the world, and every day, and many thoughts in my mind, and much moving through my heart. But I seem to have pulled back a bit, once again, from the flow of news and commentary. I’m sure it’s like a circuit breaker to keep me sane. On that: to all bloggers and news junkies I heartily and TOtally recommend “And now, the news” by Theodore Sturgeon. I really, really recommend it. It’s a fiction story and I think you’ll get a big kick out of it. Wait, let me recommend it one more time. Okay, there we go. Thanks.

Anyway, I’m not going anywhere. Just doing some work. Soon to be posting some interesting stuff I’m sure, as I’m gearing up for Denver (and of course any helping hand is welcomed!) and I’ll be doing a wee bit o’ the bloggy from hyar ta thar for sure. I’m still reading regularly but sporadically. And I’m sure I’ll be back here before long. In the meanwhile, feel free to peruse my finely-tuned blogroll. It’s pure velvet.

How about you? What’s on your mind, on tu plato? Anything worth repeating?

I was thinking about ReiserFS last night as one of my friends uses it, but I don’t think I could ever use it because Hans Reiser killed his wife and that disturbs me… the idea that you can separate a programmer’s work from the programmer. I can’t, because like other art forms, the output is often an expression of the artist’s inner self (to some degree). Even if it doesn’t seem to be directly related to the artist, a work is shaped by experiences and world view. Even thinking about it now makes my stomach hurt a little bit.

    Hi Nezua,

You ask what is in our minds and on our plates. How kind of you to ask. Is it unkind to lay my burden down on you and your readers? It feels so selfish, yet I find myself drawn towards your invitation and hope that maybe…can any good come of bearing one’s soul in this way? Good for anyone? I don’t know, so in advance, I apologize for bringing anyone down. Just tired; emotionally, physically, spitually…working moment by moment for a calm that feels shakey and artificial. Desiring to find the truth in all the wars and rumors of wars, wondering what help I can possibly be to my kids, my friends, and so many others. Determined to be optimistic while realistic, I, like so many others I’m sure, am searching for ways to contribute tangible HELP to those in need. And around us the hate and the callousness towards even one’s hungry neighbors, (and most maddening of all, sometimes coming from those claiming to be christianss)abounds. Well, not to give up hope, especially with many young people depending upon me, today will offer up oppetunities to do some goood, I’m sure. Peace. Nora

Some good news, some not so good. Good news, no chemo for Dad! The doctors agreed that he doesn’t need it, for now. He will get regular check ups every two months.

On the not so bad, but extremely frustrating side of the news, am stuck midway through the second draft of my novel. The goal for finishing the second draft is the of this month so I can have someone look it over. The real dateline is the end of this year, I want to start sending letters to literary agents and publishers by December.

    Recharging creative batteries, still charging….
