Hey. You. Feedreader. C’mere.

THIS IS A SHORT AND SIMPLE REQUEST to all my lovely friends in FeedReaderLand. Yes, you! The one reading me now in an RSS reader, or a google aggregator, in Bloglines or in Buzz or Greatnews or Newsfire or NetNewsWire and so on! You see, you—being the jazzy and hip tech-savvy sort—don’t visit blog pages individually so much anymore, and that’s cool. We miss you in the ‘hood, but it’s all good…

You—being the jazzy and hip tech-savvy sort—don’t visit blog pages individually so much anymore, and that’s cool. But in your growing up and spreading your technological wings, UMX has changed locations.

SO, if you have The Unapologetic Mexican blogrolled, I’d really appreciate it if you can take a moment and do like Manuél said: change your links over from http://theunapologeticmexican.org/elgrito to http://theunapologeticmexican.org/elmachete. Just go in there and replace “elgrito” with “elmachete” and we’re golden.

Gracias! And buenos dias!

Interestingly enough, my Google Reader already did. I don’t know how that happened. Pretty cool.

oh, i was maybe unclear. i switched the originating feed address, so feedreaders theoretically should have not experienced a bump. should not have noticed a change at all.

i was talking specifically about sidebar links, where people had placed a link to UMX and would have to manually change it if it were to change.

Oh ok. I gotta change mine then. Haven’t touched that link since day 10 of my blog.

edit: Forget it. I already have just theunapologeticmexican.org . That would do, I believe.

jeje. it certainly covers all future possibilities! i think technorati-wise it helps to be linked directly…but anyway, man i’m not here to give you extra work. we’ve spent enough time on this and i thank you. linking to the splash page is fine. the blog will rise!

now, voy tomar un café and check out that essay you penned my friend. after that there is no more excuses left for me to stall the workday beginning. :)

I don’t use any feedreaders because centralization makes the work that much easier for those whose job it is to monitor and take notes

i have to laugh and say i completely understand these types of considerations. and anyway, i’m glad you come to the page to see how it looks! the one thing reading sites through feeds does is homogenize them. i actually used to use a feedreader. but i don’t anymore. i just bookmark sites and keep them in folders. i still like “going to” each site…i like to see the distinct personalities of design. i like to feel i am “dropping by” a friends’ place. :) perhaps all ways not to discorporate entirely in this fleshless, spaceless virtual world.
