I’M SORRY, MOVABLE TYPE. I’ve been with you since 2002. When you were bare bones and for techies. When I had to customize every last thing, and nobody even knew ya. I was with you when wordpress blew up. And I’ve suffered your glitchy plugins and your catching up to Web 2.0, and I’ve defended you and weathered your 500 server errors flooding me every day, and lately, every post I make. I’ve found many good things about you, and in a handful of ways, I still prefer you very much over Wordpress.

But let’s face facts. Wordpress is eating you alive. And I’m tired of fighting my software. Our time together is done, MT. Thank you for seeing me through more than a few blogs, and more than a couple experiments, and many, many heartfelt rants and diaries. Maybe one day we will meet again, and have things to talk about and even take it further. But for now, I think our paths must diverge.

Paz y amor, old platform.

I love that you wrote a goodbye note to Moveable Type :-)

I’ve been with WordPress from the beginning and I can’t envision blogging without its comforting presence. “Paz y amor, old platform” — touching yet also simultaneously funny to me for some reason…

i think to what exact degree one finds this goodbye touching vs. funny is a direct indicator to that individuals’ Geekness Quotient.
